Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Leh to participate in the first international exposition of Lord Buddha’s sacred relics. He was welcomed by Ladakh Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena at the airport and received a ceremonial reception. During his two-day stay, Shah will honor the relics on Buddha Purnima and inaugurate a dairy plant in Kargil.
In a social media post, Shah expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to attend the exposition of Lord Buddha’s relics. The event, starting on May 1, will witness devotees from around the world paying their respects to the sacred relics. The relics were brought to Leh by Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche and Khenpo Thinlas Chosal of Matho Monastery.
The exposition, scheduled for the first two weeks of May, signifies a significant spiritual event in Ladakh. Before Shah’s arrival, Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Saxena announced the addition of five more districts to the Union Territory, appointing officials to ensure the smooth functioning of the new administrative units.
