Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Indian cricket team for their exceptional performance in winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Shah described the victory as a proud moment for the nation, commending the players for their outstanding grit and character on the global stage.

Shah’s congratulatory message on social media added to the nationwide chorus of well-wishes following India’s emphatic triumph. The Union Home Minister was present at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during the final match, witnessing the team’s remarkable achievement firsthand.

India’s openers, Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan, played crucial roles in setting up a massive total of 255/5, the second-highest in the tournament. Led by Samson’s blistering 89 off 46 balls, Team India’s strong batting performance paved the way for a comprehensive victory over New Zealand, who were bowled out for 159 in 19 overs.

Local talents Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel shone in the bowling department, dismantling New Zealand’s top order and securing India’s historic win in the T20 World Cup.
