Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Dibrugarh, Assam, late Thursday night and is scheduled to participate in a series of official, developmental, and party events across the state on Friday. He will kick off his day by inaugurating the new complex of the Assam Legislative Assembly, which includes the MLA Hostel, aimed at enhancing facilities for elected representatives. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the state’s legislative infrastructure.
Later in the day, Shah will lay the foundation stone for the Wildlife Health and Research Institute, focusing on wildlife disease management and scientific research to bolster Assam’s conservation efforts. Additionally, he will inaugurate the Khanikar Stadium in Dibrugarh, which aims to promote sports and support budding talents in the region.
Moving on to Dhemaji district, the Home Minister will participate in the 10th Mising Cultural Festival at Kareng Chapori, highlighting the cultural richness of the Mising community through traditional music, dance, and customs. This event underscores the government’s commitment to preserving the cultural diversity of the Northeast region.
In the evening, Shah will head to Guwahati, where he is set to visit the BJP’s state headquarters for meetings with party officials and workers. The discussions are anticipated to revolve around organizational matters and future political strategies.
