Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to launch the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign in Kerala for the upcoming Assembly elections. Shah arrived at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and will engage in various political, organisational, and religious activities in the state capital. His schedule includes a visit to the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple for prayers and interactions with newly elected BJP representatives to strengthen the party’s grassroots base.
Later, Shah will address the BJP’s elected representatives’ conference at Kowdiar, focusing on election preparedness and constituency-specific strategies. He will also attend the party’s state core committee meeting to discuss key political and electoral issues. Senior BJP leaders like Rajeev Chandrasekhar, V. Muraleedharan, K. Surendran, and Shobha Surendran will participate in these meetings to discuss candidate selection and seat-sharing arrangements among NDA partners.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, BJP state president, expressed enthusiasm for Shah’s visit, highlighting its significance in launching the party’s election campaign activities in Kerala. The visit gains importance amidst the backdrop of the arrest of the chief priest in the Sabarimala gold theft case. Additionally, extensive traffic restrictions have been imposed in Thiruvananthapuram in anticipation of Shah’s visit, with authorities advising travelers to plan their journeys in advance.
