Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the International Border (IB) to launch welfare schemes for Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and conduct a high-level security review meeting during his ongoing three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Shah’s arrival was delayed, and he reached Jammu around 11 p.m., where he was welcomed by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha before proceeding to Lok Bhawan for the night.

Officials have confirmed that Shah will tour the International Border in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district and later assess the security situation at a high-level meeting. Key officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), heads of paramilitary forces, and intelligence agencies have already gathered in preparation for Shah’s visit.

The Home Minister is expected to inspect forward areas along the International Border, including Border Outposts of Gurnam and Bobiya in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district, to review the BSF’s efforts to prevent infiltration. He will also inaugurate welfare schemes for BSF personnel and engage with them at the Bobiya border outpost. Following his border visit, Shah will chair a high-level meeting at Lok Bhavan to review the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, MHA officials, paramilitary force heads, intelligence agencies, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, and other senior officers from Jammu and Kashmir will participate in the security review meeting. The focus will include a comprehensive assessment of the security situation, particularly ongoing anti-terrorist operations in the hilly regions of Jammu against foreign terrorists.

Shah will also distribute compassionate appointment letters and meet martyrs’ families at Lok Bhawan, besides overseeing the development progress in Jammu and Kashmir at another high-level meeting. He is set to return to New Delhi on Saturday afternoon, concluding his visit. Security measures have been heightened in the Jammu region ahead of the Home Minister’s arrival.
