Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited actor Nandamuri Balakrishna at a hospital in Hyderabad. Balakrishna, who is also Naidu’s brother-in-law, sustained a knee injury during a film shoot last week. The Chief Minister inquired about Balakrishna’s injury and recovery progress at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG).
Balakrishna, a popular Tollywood actor and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA, injured himself during a film shoot in Rajahmundry on July 21. He was subsequently airlifted to Hyderabad for medical treatment. Doctors diagnosed him with a tear in the left quadriceps tendon and supporting tissues around the knee.
Following a thorough evaluation, a team of specialists recommended surgery as the best course of action for Balakrishna. The surgery, conducted on July 23, was successful without any complications, as confirmed by the hospital in a medical bulletin.
Balakrishna is currently in stable condition and under close observation post-surgery. A medical team is monitoring his recovery progress, with rehabilitation set to commence gradually based on his recovery trajectory.
Balakrishna’s injury occurred during the filming of an upcoming movie directed by Gopichand Malineni. He is a prominent figure in the TDP, serving as a third-time MLA from Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, he is the brother-in-law of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the father-in-law of Naidu’s son and state Minister Nara Lokesh.
Both Chief Minister Naidu and Minister Lokesh have conveyed their well wishes to Balakrishna for a speedy and complete recovery.
