Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the establishment of ‘Registration Seva Kendras’ aims to enhance services for the public, not privatize Sub-Registrar offices. He urged officials to combat misinformation and educate the public on the true purpose of these centers. The CM, during a review at the State Secretariat, reiterated the government’s commitment to improving registration services through the new Kendras.
The Chief Minister likened the functioning of Registration Seva Kendras to Passport Seva Kendras, highlighting the ease of passport processing post their introduction. He instructed officials to clarify the operational similarities and benefits to the public. Chandrababu Naidu condemned the spread of false propaganda about the centers and stressed the need for officials to reassure document writers about their livelihoods.
Naidu also addressed the systematic disbursement of subsidies under the ‘Deepam-2.0’ scheme, urging coordination between departments for timely payments. He called for the identification and counseling of litigant petitioners filing complaints without genuine public interest. The CM emphasized prompt resolution of non-financial grievances and prioritized handling of financial issues, especially in light of a 49% rainfall deficit due to El Nino’s impact.
