An ongoing anti-terrorist operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district is targeting terrorists who were seen firing from a cave. Joint forces, using drones, identified the terrorists firing from a cave in the Ramnagar area, leading to a tighter cordon to locate them. The operation, initiated based on intelligence, involved a strategic response to prevent the terrorists from escaping the forested area.
Security forces are vigilant in the hilly regions of Udhampur, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, and Doda districts due to the presence of terrorists. A high-level security meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the need to neutralize these terrorists, believed to be mostly of Pakistani origin, and prevent infiltration across borders. The directive was to adopt a mission-mode approach to tackle the situation effectively.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Jammu and Kashmir for three days starting February 5. His visit includes inspecting the international border and leading another security review meeting in Jammu city, among other engagements.
