Veteran actor Anupam Kher visited the Kalighat Kali Temple in Kolkata, where he prayed for health, happiness, and peace. Sharing glimpses from the visit on his Instagram, Kher expressed gratitude and sought blessings for everyone. He highlighted the significance of ancient temples in India, emphasizing the faith and diversity they represent.
The Kalighat Kali Temple, one of India’s 51 Shakti Peethas, is believed to be where the right toe of Goddess Sati fell during a cosmic dance by Lord Shiva. According to Hindu mythology, various parts of the Goddess’s body fell on earth as Shiva carried Sati’s burnt body during Tandav.
Anupam Kher is making a comeback to Bengali cinema as a producer with ‘Shuru Theke Shuru’ after a hiatus of 26 years. Expressing his joy at returning to Bengali cinema, Kher paid tribute to Bengal’s rich cultural heritage and its immense contribution to Indian cinema. He acknowledged the legacy of Bengal’s writers, directors, actors, singers, musicians, and artists in shaping the film industry.
