Veteran actor Anupam Kher has announced his return to Bengali cinema after a hiatus of 26 years. He shared that his production house will be supporting a new Bengali project, expressing his enthusiasm for reconnecting with an industry that has significantly influenced his artistic journey. Anupam Kher Studio, in collaboration with Friends Communication and Mr. Firdausul Hassan, will produce the film “Shuru Theke Shuru,” marking their return to Bengali cinema after the 1995 movie “Bariwali.”
The actor emphasized the importance of Bengal in shaping his career, acknowledging the influence of luminaries like Rituparno Ghosh, Manikda, Mrinal Sen, and Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. Anupam Kher expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister for the support and encouragement extended towards their upcoming project. He highlighted the significance of starting afresh and expressed the desire to contribute positively to the Bengali film industry.
Anupam Kher reflected on the impact of his previous Bengali film, “Bariwali,” directed by Rituparno Ghosh and featuring Kirron Kher, Roopa Ganguly, and Chiranjeet Chakraborty. The film not only marked a milestone in his career but also earned his wife the National Film Award for Best Actress. Through this new venture, Anupam Kher aims to pay tribute to the industry that has been instrumental in his artistic growth.
