In a significant bureaucratic move, Anurag Jain, a senior IAS officer, has been named the Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog. Simultaneously, Ashok Barnwal, another seasoned bureaucrat, has been appointed as the acting Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Jain’s appointment to lead the country’s premier public policy think tank.
Jain, a 1989-batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, previously served as the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh. Following his transition to the Centre, Ashok Barnwal, a senior 1991-batch IAS officer, has been entrusted with overseeing the state’s executive operations. Barnwal, currently holding key positions in various departments, will now assume the top bureaucratic role in Madhya Pradesh.
These appointments signify a crucial administrative reshuffle, ensuring experienced leadership in both NITI Aayog’s policy formulation and Madhya Pradesh’s executive governance.
