Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth visited the headquarters of the Army’s Chinar Corps in Srinagar to assess operational readiness along the Line of Control and in the hinterland. The visit included a review of security situations, counter-terrorism operations, and arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra.
During the visit, General Dhiraj Seth praised the professionalism and dedication of the troops in maintaining peace and stability in challenging conditions. He also met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to discuss the overall security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.
General Dhiraj Seth, the 31st Chief of the Army Staff, assumed office on June 30, 2026, succeeding General Upendra Dwivedi. With a distinguished military career, he has held key positions including Vice Chief of the Army Staff and various General Officer Commanding roles.
