Alert Army troops successfully prevented an infiltration bid on Wednesday in the Bhimber Gali sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district along the Line of Control (LoC). The White Knight Corps of the Army, based in Nagrota, acted on credible intelligence inputs to detect terrorist movement in the area. Swiftly engaging with decisive force, the troops foiled the infiltration attempt, maintaining the security of the LoC.
The enemy’s plans were effectively thwarted through coordinated ground action as stated by the Army. The troops have been realigned to ensure continuous control of the area with integrated ground and aerial surveillance. A strong operational stance and heightened alertness are being maintained across the sector to prevent any breach of the LoC.
Jammu and Kashmir features a 740-km-long Line of Control (LoC) and a 240-km-long International Border, spanning various districts in the region. The LoC traverses through Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Poonch, Rajouri, and parts of Jammu district. The International Border is situated in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts, guarded by the Border Security Force (BSF) against infiltration and other illicit activities originating from Pakistan.
