The police have arrested the owner and manager of an illegal firecracker factory in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, where a tragic explosion led to the death of seven individuals. The arrested individuals are Hemant Kumar Sharma, the factory owner, and his manager Abhinandan.
Hemant Kumar Sharma is the brother of Yogesh Kumar Sharma, a head constable with the Bhiwadi Police DST team. The explosion took place in the Khuskheda Industrial Area during the unauthorized production of firecrackers, resulting in seven fatalities and severe burns to four others.
Authorities revealed that a police team apprehended the third suspect, Rajendra Kumar, at his Ghaziabad residence. Rajendra, who is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor, was assured by his family to be presented before the police. Failure to comply may lead to further police action.
Four individuals, including Hemant Kumar, Abhinandan, Rajendra Kumar, and contractor Ajit, have been implicated in the case. While Hemant and Abhinandan are in custody, Rajendra is receiving medical treatment, and Ajit lost his life in the explosion.
Following the incident, Ajit’s body will undergo DNA testing and a post-mortem examination before being released to his family. The police have sealed the illegal factory and a nearby warehouse, both reportedly owned by Hemant Kumar Sharma, where a significant amount of illegal firecrackers and manufacturing equipment were discovered.
The presence of machinery for large-scale firecracker production suggests organized illegal manufacturing activities at the site. Investigations are ongoing, with further developments anticipated in the case.
