In a disturbing suspected honor killing incident, three individuals, including the 16-year-old girl’s father, have been apprehended by the Government Railway Police (GRP). The girl’s mutilated body was discovered inside a box in the S1 coach of the Chhapra-Gomti Nagar Express at Gomti Nagar Railway Station in Lucknow. The arrested suspects are identified as the victim’s father Viggan Ansari (44), her aunt Noorjahan (55), and her uncle Mojibulla Ansari (65), all taken into custody from Kushinagar district after a thorough investigation.
The horrific event unfolded on May 17 when railway personnel found an unclaimed box beneath a seat in the sleeper coach of the train at Gomti Nagar Railway Station. Upon inspection, the GRP team uncovered the body of the teenage girl, dismembered into six pieces, with the head missing. Subsequently, the police launched an extensive probe, analyzing CCTV footage from various railway stations, with critical leads emerging from Tamkuhi Railway Station in Kushinagar district that aided in identifying and locating the suspects.
During the arrest operation, police recovered two “banka” weapons believed to have been used in the murder and dismemberment of the victim from the accused. Initial investigations suggest that the deceased, identified as Shabba, was allegedly in a romantic relationship, provoking the ire of her family members. Authorities suspect that the father, along with his sister and brother-in-law, orchestrated the girl’s murder, dismembered her body, aiming to conceal the crime and mislead investigators.
Efforts are ongoing to locate the missing head of the victim, with search operations spanning Kushinagar district and bordering areas of Bihar. The accused individuals are currently undergoing interrogation as the investigation into this brutal killing continues.
