Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal was visibly emotional upon being discharged by the Rouse Avenue Court in the Delhi excise policy case. Kejriwal, addressing the media post-verdict, expressed gratitude for the court’s decision, emphasizing his belief in the Indian judicial system.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was observed consoling Kejriwal, who accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of orchestrating a political conspiracy against AAP. Kejriwal denounced the allegations as baseless and thanked the judges for their ruling.
The court declined to frame charges against Kejriwal and Sisodia in the corruption case related to the alleged liquor policy scam, citing insufficient evidence. Both leaders had been arrested earlier but were granted bail by the Supreme Court in 2024, in connection with the 2021-22 excise policy of the Delhi government.
