Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, during a rally in Gandhinagar, encouraged the people of Gujarat to reject both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress. He emphasized the need for a change in the entire political system rather than just switching from one party to another. Kejriwal advocated for a government in Gujarat that would be independent and make decisions for the welfare of the people.
Kejriwal highlighted the distress among farmers in Gujarat after a recent journey through villages and neighborhoods. He expressed concerns over the challenges faced by farmers, including issues with drinking water, irrigation, and fair prices for their crops. Despite the long-standing rule of the BJP in Gujarat, Kejriwal pointed out that farmers, youth, and traders have not seen significant improvements.
Referring to specific incidents, Kejriwal criticized the treatment of farmers protesting against the “kadda” system in Botad. He also mentioned the arrest of AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava and farmer leader Pravin Ram for raising corruption issues. Kejriwal shared his own experience of facing legal actions but emphasized the lack of evidence against him.
Kejriwal pledged to bring a change in governance by giving opportunities to candidates from ordinary families rather than political leaders’ relatives. He called on farmers to oppose the BJP in future elections and stressed the importance of establishing a people’s government in Gujarat to combat corruption and improve governance.
