Aryan Roopa Anand maintained his lead at 11-under despite a shaky start with two bogeys in the first four holes on the second day of the IGPL Invitational Sri Lanka. Local amateur Kaya Daluwatte and India’s SSP Chawrasia were tied for second place at 10-under, with Jeev Milkha Singh in fourth position.
Gaganjeet Bhullar and Chiragh Kumar were tied for fifth place at 8-under after 36 holes. Chiragh had an impressive round with eight-under 63, featuring nine birdies and one bogey. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, considering his return from serious injuries.
Karandeep Kochhar, the winner of IGPL UAE, stood ninth, only four shots behind the leader. As the tournament progressed towards the final day, the top eight players were closely contested at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. Aryan, despite early setbacks, managed to birdie the 18th hole to stay in the lead.
Kaya Daluwatte, a local favorite, shared the second spot with SSP Chawrasia, trailing Aryan by one stroke. Chawrasia aimed to secure his first victory in the IGPL series. Jeev Milkha Singh, lying fourth, expressed admiration for Kaya’s performance, highlighting her maturity and solid play.
