The Governing Body Meeting of the Asian Productivity Organization in New Delhi wrapped up after three days. Discussions centered on the Vision 2030 roadmap and institutional performance measures. Hosted by the National Productivity Council, the meeting highlighted GAIA for AI-driven productivity enhancement and training system modernization.
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal emphasized India’s productivity-led growth and various reforms, including digital infrastructure and MSME empowerment. Plenary sessions focused on future governance and direction of the APO, covering agenda items like the Annual Report, financial matters, and governance reforms.
The meeting saw discussions on the appointment of auditors, APO Vision 2030 Steering Committee recommendations, and the preliminary budget for the 2027–28 biennium. Member economies reiterated their commitment to cooperation in digital transformation, sustainable development, and productivity-led growth.
APO Awards were presented to productivity advocates and technical experts, alongside NPC Special Recognition Awards for outstanding contributions to productivity enhancement. The APO established the APO Accreditation Body to accredit Certification Bodies for Productivity Specialists in member economies.
Thirteen APO member economies, including India, have received certification from the APO Accreditation Body. The event also witnessed the presentation of the APO-AB Accreditation Certificate to the National Productivity Organization Certification Body of Cambodia. India’s successful hosting of the event reaffirmed its dedication to advancing productivity and regional cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
