Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the state’s ongoing transition from manual to digital record-keeping systems in educational institutions. This shift is aimed at enhancing efficiency and improving academic monitoring throughout Assam. The distribution of tablet PCs to teachers and Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators in Dhemaji district marks a significant step in this digital transformation. These devices will enable educators to maintain accurate real-time records, ultimately streamlining administrative processes and strengthening academic oversight.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Pradan Baruah, participated in a ceremony at Dhemaji Girls’ Senior Secondary School for the distribution of 183 tablet PCs under the Samagra Shiksha initiative. The introduction of digital tools is expected to enhance inclusive record management, facilitate real-time data synchronization, and enhance overall governance in the education sector. Pegu emphasized that these technological advancements will support effective academic supervision, enabling educators and administrators to monitor learning outcomes, attendance, and other essential metrics more efficiently.
The utilization of tablet PCs in education is part of Assam’s broader strategy to modernize its education system through technology-driven reforms. By providing teachers with digital resources, the state government aims to enhance data accuracy, improve monitoring mechanisms, and elevate the quality of education. Chief Minister Sarma reiterated the importance of empowering teachers digitally to create a future-ready education system and ensure better educational outcomes for students across Assam.
