Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the importance of preparing the state’s youth for global job prospects while promoting self-reliance through skill enhancement, employment, and entrepreneurship. He highlighted the government’s commitment to linking Assam’s youth with international job markets, especially in Japan, by offering Japanese language training under the CM Flight Scheme. The state government has invested approximately Rs 1.5 lakh per trainee in four phases to equip individuals with education and specialized training for securing employment in Japanese industries.
Chief Minister Sarma visited the North East Skill Centre at Gorchuk to inspect its facilities and assess the skill development and employment-focused training initiatives under the Assam Skill Development Mission. He engaged with trainees and instructors undergoing Japanese language training, emphasizing the importance of such programs in enhancing employability skills. Additionally, he visited the under-construction Integrated Directorate Complex at Betkuchi to oversee the project’s progress, aimed at consolidating 54 government directorates into a single administrative hub for improved governance efficiency and citizen-centric services.
During his inspection of the Sarusajai Stadium complex and its vicinity, Chief Minister Sarma reviewed the proposed master plan for integrated urban development. The project envisions transforming the area into a modern urban center with top-notch infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, upgraded public amenities, and sustainable urban planning to enhance the quality of life for residents.
