Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the visible improvements in government schools across the state. He mentioned the state’s focus on bridging infrastructure gaps to ensure all schools reach full capacity. Sarma showcased key achievements in school transformation, including enhanced infrastructure and digital learning facilities.
The Education Department, under the current government, reported that 98.47% of government schools in Assam now have access to electricity. Additionally, all schools have achieved 100% coverage of girls’ toilets to promote sanitation and boost girl student enrollment. The state has also equipped 91.5% of eligible government schools with digital learning tools, emphasizing the integration of technology in education.
These advancements align with the government’s vision of creating a developed educational system in Assam through continuous investment in the sector. Various initiatives have been launched to modernize school infrastructure, elevate teaching standards, and expand access to quality education, especially in rural areas. Efforts are ongoing to ensure all schools meet the required standards by providing electricity, digital infrastructure, and other essential facilities.
