Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, showcased his government’s accomplishments in the Assembly, emphasizing significant economic progress, poverty reduction, and increased job opportunities in the state. Sarma revealed that Assam’s GDP surged by Rs 8.71 lakh crore in the past five years, indicating rapid economic advancement.
He also mentioned a notable decline in poverty levels during the same period, expressing confidence in further reductions in the coming years. Sarma attributed these positive changes to the government’s welfare programs and development efforts, aiming to enhance the socio-economic status of the populace.
In a commitment to boost employment, Sarma announced plans to generate an additional two lakh jobs for the state’s youth. He reiterated the government’s dedication to public sector recruitment and other employment avenues, ensuring opportunities for the younger population.
Furthermore, Sarma criticized the previous Congress administration, alleging stagnant budget growth and delayed salary payments for government employees.
