Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Khanapara in Guwahati to inspect arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit and the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Council of Ministers. The Chief Minister oversaw security measures, seating layouts, traffic plans, and logistical setups for the event at the Veterinary Field in Khanapara. The ceremony is anticipated to host various Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states.
During the inspection, senior officials briefed Sarma on the progress of the preparations, including security and administrative aspects. The swearing-in ceremony of the BJP-led NDA government in Assam is scheduled for May 12 at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara. State BJP president Dilip Saikia mentioned that the event is expected to draw a crowd of over one lakh people, reflecting substantial public enthusiasm for the new government.
Saikia disclosed that PM Modi is likely to arrive at Guwahati’s airport around 10.15 a.m. on May 12 before heading to the venue at Khanapara. Besides Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the ceremony is set to be attended by various NDA leaders, Union ministers, and party officials. The party and state government are closely monitoring the preparations, with assigned responsibilities to ensure smooth proceedings and discipline during the program.
