Assam Rifles in Manipur observed the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas with various initiatives across Churachandpur, Chandel, and Tengnoupal districts. The programs aimed to honor the sacrifices of Kargil War heroes and inspire youth to serve the nation. Kargil Vijay Diwas is commemorated annually on July 26 to celebrate India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War.
The commemorative activities included veteran welfare programs, patriotic rallies, and youth outreach efforts. Assam Rifles also organized career guidance sessions for students to explore opportunities in the Indian Armed Forces.
In Chandel and Tengnoupal districts, special events were held at Modi village and Khudengthabi village as part of the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations. These events brought together members of the veteran community, ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, widows, and Assam Rifles personnel. The programs included flag hoisting ceremonies, Pipe Band displays, and felicitations for the families of fallen soldiers.
Assam Rifles’ initiatives extended to welfare projects, such as providing assistance for domestic water supply issues and organizing friendly football matches. Additionally, a Tiranga Rally was conducted to honor the occasion, emphasizing national unity and paying tribute to the heroes of the 1999 Kargil War. These programs underscored Assam Rifles’ commitment to honoring soldiers’ sacrifices, supporting veterans, and inspiring the younger generation to contribute to nation-building.
