The Assam Rifles recently organized civil-military engagement programs in Manipur to enhance community trust, empower youth, and improve public cooperation with security forces. These initiatives, held in various districts like Bishnupur and Thoubal, aimed at fostering interaction between locals and security personnel. A total of 252 residents, including youths, students, and teachers, participated in these programs, focusing on trust-building and encouraging community involvement in maintaining peace.
In Bishnupur district, an interactive session was conducted in Maibam Chingmang village, involving 50 residents. Discussions revolved around security issues and daily life concerns, with villagers encouraged to collaborate closely with the security forces. The engagement helped establish a mechanism for real-time information sharing at the grassroots level.
Moving to Thoubal district, the Assam Rifles organized a motivational session for 50 youths and parents at Haioraibi Makha Leikai in Lilong. The session, led by Colonel Sahid (Retd), highlighted career opportunities in the Indian Armed Forces and the Central Armed Police Forces. Participants were briefed on eligibility criteria, recruitment procedures, and preparation strategies, aiming to inspire and guide them towards a career in the armed forces.
In Tengnoupal district, a program titled “A Day with Company Commander” was held at New KLP in Moreh, involving 145 Class X students and seven teachers from various schools. The event focused on instilling discipline, leadership qualities, and selfless service among students. Additionally, volleyball and tug-of-war competitions were organized to promote teamwork and sportsmanship. These outreach programs aimed to strengthen trust between communities and security forces, fostering constructive engagement for long-term socio-economic development and peace in the region.
