At least one person was killed and three others, including two police personnel, were injured in an attack on a police post in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident occurred in Barang tehsil of Bajaur district around 2 am, as reported by local media. The deceased was identified as 60-year-old Naseem Gul, a local resident, while the injured included two police personnel and a school watchman.

The injured individuals, including 35-year-old Constable Suliman Khan and 58-year-old Constable Saz Muhammad, were taken to the District Headquarter Hospital in Khar for treatment. Their conditions were reported to be stable. The spokesperson for the district police, Israr Khan, mentioned that the militants used heavy and light weapons in the attack. Following the incident, a joint team of security forces and police conducted a clearance operation at the scene.

According to data from the Islamabad-based Pak Institute for Peace Studies, Pakistan witnessed a significant increase in militant violence in 2025. The report highlighted a 34% surge in attacks and a 21% rise in fatalities compared to the previous year. In 2025, a total of 699 militant attacks were recorded across Pakistan, resulting in 1,034 deaths and 1,366 injuries. Last month, five police personnel were killed in an attack on a police mobile in the Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
