The Austrian women’s hockey team has landed in Hyderabad for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. Competing for three qualification spots in Belgium and the Netherlands, Austria aims to make a mark after a long absence from the prestigious event.

Led by Johanna Czech, Austria will face England, Italy, and Korea in Pool A. The team, eager to secure a qualification spot after 45 years, is focused on delivering their best performance in India.

Italy’s women’s national hockey team has also arrived in Hyderabad for the upcoming tournament. With a history of two World Cup qualifications, Italy is set to compete against England, Korea, and Austria in Pool A.

Scheduled from March 8 to 14, the tournament will feature eight nations vying for spots in the anticipated event in Belgium and the Netherlands later this year. Italy will kick off their campaign against England on March 8, followed by matches against Austria and Korea.
