Baloch Women Forum Raises Alarm on Human Rights Abuses in Balochistan

The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has alerted the international community to ongoing human rights violations by Pakistani forces in Balochistan, particularly the increasing cases of enforced disappearance of Baloch women. The forum condemned these actions as illegal, morally wrong, and a breach of international norms, accusing Pakistani state institutions of conducting such activities without following proper legal procedures.

Pointing out the grim situation faced by civilians in Balochistan due to Pakistani authorities, the BWF emphasized that the residents are deprived of basic rights like job opportunities, healthcare, and education. The forum stressed that what the Baloch people desire most is the right to live with dignity and freedom.

In a statement, the BWF highlighted that in 2025, 17 Baloch women were victims of enforced disappearances, with another case reported on January 13. The forum alleged that a majority of these women were directly abducted by Pakistani security forces, including the Counter-Terrorism Department, while the rest were forcibly disappeared by Pakistan-backed militias.

Despite the widespread atrocities faced by the Baloch people, including women and children, the BWF criticized the biased approach of the Pakistani media. The forum expressed frustration that the media fails to provide fair coverage of the abduction of Baloch women, relying on misinformation and baseless reporting instead.

The BWF urged the global community to seek firsthand information by visiting Balochistan or engaging directly with the indigenous people to understand and report on their grievances.
