Bangladesh’s captain, Nigar Sultana Joty, has highlighted the potential impact of emerging opener Juairiya Ferdous as the team gears up for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Ferdous, a 20-year-old talent, has impressed with her performances in warm-up matches, showcasing her ability to play a crucial role at the top of the order during the upcoming tournament.

Nigar praised Ferdous for her form and stated that the young batter’s aggressive approach, capable of scoring boundaries in the Powerplay and beyond, makes her a key player for Bangladesh. Ferdous’ recent displays, including a quick 26 against New Zealand and a solid 50 against Ireland, have boosted Bangladesh’s confidence ahead of their tournament opener against the Netherlands.

Despite facing defeats in warm-up games, Nigar emphasized the importance of the matches in providing valuable lessons to the team. She expressed optimism about the team’s preparation, focusing on learning from the positives and working towards a strong start in the tournament. With promising performances from players like Ferdous and spinner Sanjida Akter Meghla, Bangladesh aims to convert their preparations into success as they kick off their T20 World Cup campaign.
