Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has revealed the 15-member squad for the initial two matches of the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand. The team, which secured a notable victory against Pakistan last month, remains unchanged under the leadership of Habibul Bashar’s new selection committee. The matches are scheduled for April 17 and 20 at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka, followed by the third ODI on April 23 in Chattogram.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz will continue to captain the team, comprising seasoned players like Litton Das, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Isman, alongside emerging talents such as Rishad Hossein and Nahid Rana. Notably, the performance of key batters Saif Hassan and Atif Hossein, who are currently struggling, will be closely monitored during the series against the Black Caps.
Five members of the ODI squad, including Nahid, Mustafizur, Shoriful, Rishad Hossain, and Tanzid Hasan, are participating in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. They are expected to join the rest of the squad on April 12. Bangladesh, ranked 9th in the ODI Rankings, faces a tough challenge against New Zealand, who hold the 2nd position and recently triumphed over India in a series. Despite missing key players engaged in the Indian Premier League (IPL), New Zealand aims to maintain their winning momentum in the subcontinent.
