The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has accused team officials, franchise owners, and players of engaging in corrupt practices during the 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL T20). Allegations include breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code for Participants. The charges stem from investigations by the Bangladesh Cricket Board Integrity Unit (BCBIU) regarding betting activities and failures to cooperate with anti-corruption inquiries.
Those implicated, such as Md. Lablur Rahman, Md. Towhidul Haque Towhid, Amit Mojumder, and Rezwan Kabir Siddique, face various charges. Rahman and Towhid are accused of failing to cooperate with investigations and obstructing anti-corruption inquiries. Mojumder and Siddique are alleged to have engaged in betting activities related to cricket matches.
The accused individuals have been suspended pending their responses to the charges within 14 days. Additionally, an Exclusion Order has been issued against Saminur Rahman under the BCB Excluded Person Policy due to alleged involvement in corrupt activities across multiple editions of the BPL T20. Rahman accepted the Exclusion Order after waiving his right to respond.
