The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rescheduled the IPL 2026 fixtures between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) due to municipal corporation elections in Ahmedabad and other regions of Gujarat. The afternoon clash between GT and CSK, originally set for April 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will now take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on the same date. The match will maintain its original start time of 3:30 PM IST.
Municipal corporation elections are also scheduled in Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Karamsad-Anand, Gandhidham, Nadiad, Navsari, Porbandar, Mehsana, Morbi, Vapi, and Surendranagar, with vote counting on April 28. The reverse fixture between GT and CSK, initially planned for May 21 in Chennai, will now be held in Ahmedabad at the original start time of 7:30 PM IST.
The IPL 2026 schedule, apart from these changes, remains unaffected as the league progresses into its crucial mid-season phase. Chennai Super Kings, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, will face Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai after securing their first win against Delhi Capitals. Gujarat Titans, under the leadership of Shubman Gill, the IPL 2022 champions, will confront Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad in their upcoming match.
