The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to reveal the schedule for the initial 20 days of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 by March 12. The upcoming 19th edition of the IPL is scheduled to take place from March 28 to May 31, with the initial window being between March 26 and May 30.
Secretary Devajit Saikia mentioned that the BCCI plans to announce the IPL 2026 schedule by March 12, starting with the first 20 days. The remaining schedule of the tournament will be disclosed later to avoid clashing with assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, and Tamil Nadu.
Teams have already commenced their pre-season preparations for the IPL. Chennai Super Kings, the five-time champions, began training on March 1 at their High-Performance Centre in Navalur, with key players like Ruturaj Gaikwad and MS Dhoni participating. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru and 2022 champions Gujarat Titans have also initiated their practice sessions.
Punjab Kings conducted training in Abu Dhabi earlier in February and are currently holding a practice camp in Dharamsala. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, along with other teams, have also started their training sessions for the upcoming season. Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders are gearing up for their practice camps, while Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants have been actively preparing for the tournament.
