Bhojpuri actor and former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Khesari Lal Yadav hinted at distancing himself from politics after losing in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Speaking in Patna, Khesari shared thoughts on electoral politics, truth in public life, and recent controversies involving Bhojpuri actors and political figures.
Khesari mentioned that the reason for RJD’s defeat in Chhapra was widely known without providing further details. He also commented on Bhojpuri singer-actor Pawan Singh’s actions and questioned the BJP’s support for him despite controversies.
Expressing disillusionment with the political environment, Khesari expressed a preference for staying in the artistic field. He highlighted the challenges of truth-telling in politics and suggested that those adept at making false promises excel in the political arena.
Khesari attributed part of the electoral outcome to the voters, stating that the people of Bihar may not desire change. He urged citizens to contemplate their decisions and consider who can shape their future positively.
Regarding remarks made by BJP leader Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ about his worthiness for the BJP, Khesari dismissed the comments, emphasizing that the decision did not rest with Nirahua. He also commented on the legal issues faced by Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family, urging them to fight and emphasizing the importance of their contributions to Bihar.
In a broader reflection on power dynamics, Khesari highlighted the ability of those in power to manipulate situations and even turn legal matters into illegal ones if the government is not supportive.
