Bihar BJP State President Sanjay Saraogi reiterated the party’s worries about Bangladeshi infiltrators residing illegally in India, labeling it a national issue rather than a mere election strategy. Saraogi supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stance on infiltrators, highlighting the gravity of the situation. He pointed out the presence of Bangladeshi infiltrators in Bihar’s Seemanchal area and emphasized the government’s serious approach towards addressing this issue.
In his statement, Saraogi drew attention to the significant settlement of Bangladeshi Muslims in Assam and West Bengal, leading to resource misuse. He emphasized that the escalating population of infiltrators in these regions poses a national concern that transcends electoral considerations. Saraogi criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for what he termed as unfounded and irrational remarks, attributing them to pre-election nervousness.
Saraogi accused the Bengal government of allegedly facilitating the migration of people from Bangladesh for political gains, resulting in a notable increase in the Muslim population from across the border. He expressed concern over the rising numbers and the impact on the demographic landscape. Prime Minister Modi, on the other hand, accused the Congress of permitting land encroachment by infiltrators in Assam, stressing the broader implications beyond electoral politics.
