Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary congratulated Suvendu Adhikari on being sworn in as West Bengal’s Chief Minister, forming the first BJP government in the state. Choudhary, present at the ceremony in Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground, hailed this event as a significant milestone in the BJP’s political journey.
He commended Adhikari and expressed optimism that West Bengal, under his leadership, would witness progress, good governance, and overall development. Choudhary also emphasized the crucial role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in ensuring the effective implementation of central welfare schemes in the state.
The swearing-in ceremony coincided with Pochishe Boishakh, the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. Leaders paid homage to Tagore, acknowledging his enduring impact on India’s cultural and intellectual landscape.
Choudhary lauded Tagore’s profound influence, stating that his vision continues to inspire India’s developmental trajectory. He marked May 9, 2026, as a day of great significance, heralding a new era characterized by hope, dignity, and good governance.
Extending his best wishes to other BJP leaders appointed as ministers, including Dilip Ghosh, Ashok Kirtaniya, Ksudiram Tudu, and Nitish Pramanik, Choudhary expressed confidence in the new government’s ability to ensure security, prosperity, and public welfare for the people of West Bengal.
