Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) President Harsh Vardhan praised Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s international debut for India in the ongoing second T20I against England as a significant moment for Bihar cricket. Sooryavanshi, aged 15, made history by becoming the youngest Indian cricketer to debut in international cricket during the match at Old Trafford. He played briefly, scoring 14 runs before being stumped.
Vardhan expressed immense pride for Bihar, emphasizing Sooryavanshi’s achievement as a result of hard work and talent. Sooryavanshi’s debut broke records previously held by Tendulkar and Shafali Verma, showcasing his exceptional talent at a young age. Tendulkar had debuted at 16 years and 205 days, while Shafali was 15 years and 239 days old during her T20I debut. The BCA Secretary, Ziaul Arfin, noted that Sooryavanshi’s rise reflects the progress of cricket infrastructure in Bihar, inspiring young cricketers across the state.
