Vaibhav Suryavanshi made headlines with a sensational century in just 55 balls during the final, marking the fastest century in an Under-19 World Cup final to date. Harsh Vardhan emphasized that Vaibhav’s achievement is not only a moment of pride for Indian cricket but also for Bihar, highlighting his outstanding skills and temperament.
The BCA president praised Vaibhav’s groundbreaking performance, labeling it as an inspiration for budding cricketers nationwide. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, at the age of 14, set new records with his exceptional innings, including hitting the most sixes in a single Under-19 World Cup match. His aggressive play led to 15 sixes in his innings, surpassing the previous record held by Australia’s Michael Hill.
In a remarkable display of skill, Vaibhav reached his 150 off just 171 balls, setting a new record for the fastest 150 in U19 cricket. His final score of 175 runs off 80 balls, at a striking rate of 218.75, featured an impressive 15 fours and 15 sixes, with 150 runs coming solely from boundaries.
