Bihar Inspector General of Police, Sunil Kumar Naik, appeared before Andhra Pradesh police for the second consecutive day for questioning regarding the alleged custodial torture of former Member of Parliament K. Raghurama Krishna Raju. Naik, a Bihar cadre IPS officer, arrived at Central Crime Station, Guntur, at 10 p.m. for the ongoing questioning led by Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police A. R. Damodar.
The questioning, supervised by the investigating officer, will extend till 5 p.m. as per the schedule. Naik, who also serves as the Director of Fire Services in Bihar, had undergone seven hours of questioning the previous day.
Under the directive of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Naik is required to present himself before the police daily until March 9, when the hearing on his anticipatory bail plea will resume.
