Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav raised concerns about Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, for being absent from the state’s political scene for a long time. Ram Kripal Yadav criticized Tejashwi Yadav’s sudden appearance in the Bankipur poll campaign, stating that it would not make a significant impact.
Ram Kripal Yadav expressed surprise at Tejashwi Yadav’s scheduled roadshow, mentioning that he had been abroad, possibly in Norway, and questioned why Tejashwi Yadav and his party members were not actively working in his absence. BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi also criticized Tejashwi Yadav, labeling him a part-time politician and questioning his dedication to Bihar.
JD(U) chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar added to the criticism, referring to Tejashwi Yadav as a “migrant Bihari.” The remarks were made amidst the heightened campaigning for the Bankipur by-election, with Tejashwi Yadav conducting a roadshow in Patna.
The Bankipur by-election, set for July 30, has become a focal point of political competition in Bihar. Tejashwi Yadav, along with RJD candidate Rekha Gupta, led a roadshow covering various areas of the Bankipur constituency, criticizing Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and accusing the government of failing to deliver development.
Tejashwi Yadav’s comments targeted the Chief Minister, calling him a “selected” leader and alleging his involvement in incidents where police fired at students. The upcoming bypoll has witnessed intensified campaigning from both the ruling alliance and opposition parties as the polling date approaches.
