In a move to enhance public service delivery, Bihar’s Department of Revenue and Land Reforms has instructed revenue employees to work directly within their respective Halkas instead of Circle Offices. Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal mandated that staff will now only visit the Anchal office on Saturdays, with the rest of the week spent in their designated areas to address land-related issues. The new system emphasizes a fixed roster for employees to focus on crucial matters like mutation, land record correction, and digital land measurement.
The reform aims to minimize citizens’ visits to Circle Offices, streamlining processes and saving time. Jaiswal stressed the importance of prompt and transparent complaint resolution at the Halka level, emphasizing the department’s commitment to efficient public service. Additionally, Minister Ashok Choudhary announced a pilot project to deliver food grains directly to elderly citizens aged 80 and above, emphasizing transparency and timely distribution of ration cards and food supplies. Officials were urged to expedite filling vacant posts in Public Distribution System shops and ensure strict adherence to delivery timelines.
Choudhary warned against any negligence in food grain transportation and distribution, emphasizing strict action against violators to prioritize timely delivery to beneficiaries. The department also reviewed wheat and pulses procurement operations, with plans to enhance storage capacity and supply chain efficiency through Public-Private Partnership model warehouses. The meeting, attended by senior officials including Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh and Managing Director Sunil Kumar, focused on improving food distribution operations.
