The Bihar Vigilance Department conducted raids at various locations associated with a Block Development Officer (BDO) in the state regarding a case of disproportionate assets. The targeted officer, Krishna Ram, serves as the BDO of Sursand block in Sitamarhi district. The searches were carried out simultaneously at his rented residence in the Rajabazar area of Motihari and his ancestral home in Tikaita village.

Officials from the Vigilance Department scrutinized documents, bank records, property papers, and other files during the operation to investigate allegations of the officer accumulating assets beyond his known income sources. Complaints had been received by the department regarding the officer’s disproportionate assets, leading to a search warrant being obtained from the court for the raids.

The ongoing search operation aims to assess the officer’s movable and immovable properties in comparison to his lawful earnings during his tenure in government service. The Bihar Vigilance Department anticipates the recovery of crucial documents related to the case as the investigation progresses. If the allegations are substantiated, the officer will face further legal repercussions, causing a stir within administrative circles.
