Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani faced backlash from the BJP and its allies for his remarks against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat regarding “Ghar Wapsi” and demographic issues. Madani expressed concern that such statements incite hatred and undermine India’s constitutional values.
Madani criticized the call for a “Ghar Wapsi” of “twenty crore Muslims” as unprecedented and deeply troubling. He emphasized that any voice promoting ruin, unrest, and enmity cannot be considered loyal to the nation. He also highlighted the prevailing atmosphere of violence and murder in the country, particularly related to incidents of lynching and cow protection.
Accusing the government of silence in the face of such violence, Madani pointed out that certain groups advocate that only followers of a specific ideology have the right to live in India. In response, the BJP and its allies condemned Madani for his divisive rhetoric, with some accusing him of spreading hatred and being associated with terrorist activities.
