The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress criticized Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif for his warning that Pakistan would target Kolkata in any future conflict with India. Asif also accused India of planning a “false flag operation” against Pakistan. Congress MP Manish Tewari remarked that Pakistan has a history of conducting false flag operations against India since 1971, calling Pakistan the ‘epicentre of terrorism.’

Tewari emphasized that Pakistan, known for false flag operations, undermines itself when making baseless accusations. BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo recalled India’s Operation Sindoor, highlighting how India dismantled Pakistan’s terror infrastructure. Deo asserted that India, a peace-loving nation, would respond fiercely if provoked, stating that Kolkata is out of Pakistan’s reach.

Janata Dal-United leader Neeraj Kumar also criticized Pakistan’s Defence Minister, reminding him of the consequences of Operation Sindoor. Kumar condemned the Minister’s statement, emphasizing the destruction of Pakistan’s terror infrastructure during the operation.
