As the Kerala Assembly elections are ongoing, BJP National Secretary Anil K. Antony expressed confidence in his party’s upward trajectory in the state. Antony highlighted that the BJP is currently the only political force showing growth in Kerala, with control over various municipalities and gram panchayats, including the largest municipal corporation where they hold key positions.
Antony further stated that the BJP anticipates winning several seats from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram in the current elections due to strong candidates across districts. He emphasized the party’s optimistic outlook for the polls and projected a more significant role for the BJP in Kerala’s political landscape post-elections.
The polling process in Kerala began with a substantial turnout in the initial hours, involving around 2.71 crore voters. Despite the official end of campaigning, candidates from different political fronts continued their efforts to sway undecided voters. Voters expressed priorities for development, political stability, and concerns about unemployment in the state.
