A BJP Councillor’s husband, Ashok Singh, has been arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district for allegedly raping a woman at knifepoint. Singh, married to a BJP councillor in Rampur Baghelan Nagar Parishad, faces charges including criminal intimidation and obscene acts. The arrest followed a video on social media showing Singh threatening the victim, leading to a written complaint and subsequent police action.
The accused, Ashok Singh, has been charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on a complaint filed at Rampur Baghelan police station. The case gained attention after a viral video depicted Singh abusing a police officer and intimidating the survivor. Prompt police action was taken in response to the video circulating on social media.
The alleged rape survivor accused Singh of raping her at knifepoint, recording the act, and using the video to coerce her into further sexual encounters. She reported the incident to Satna SP Hansraj Singh, stating that Singh had threatened her and her family to maintain silence about the assault. The survivor also highlighted ongoing verbal abuse and threats from Singh, creating a climate of fear and harassment.
