The Bharatiya Janata Party has kicked off an extensive campaign in West Bengal, gearing up for the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections with over 500 rallies and public meetings. The party is uniting its key national leaders with local figures, marking it as one of the most vigorous election efforts in recent times. Prime Minister Modi is slated to speak at 11 rallies, while Home Minister Amit Shah will lead 30, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will conduct six.
Adding to the campaign’s allure, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut will participate in seven rallies, and veteran actress Hema Malini is also part of the lineup. The BJP’s former national president JP Nadda, along with other leaders, will also join the campaign trail, aiming to boost the party’s presence across constituencies. The strategy includes a mix of national heavyweights and regional icons to enhance outreach and engage the party’s supporters effectively.
The BJP’s campaign strategy extends beyond rallies, with daily press conferences starting on April 15, coinciding with the Bengali New Year, Poila Baisakh. Each day, the party will spotlight a specific aspect of its manifesto to maintain a clear and consistent campaign narrative. The party’s agenda is anticipated to focus on welfare, cultural identity, and development, with a strong emphasis on agricultural reforms, women’s empowerment, and infrastructure development.
The BJP’s meticulous planning and extensive campaign efforts underscore its determination to challenge the Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, known as one of India’s most politically charged battlegrounds. With a lineup of over 500 rallies, daily press briefings, and a mix of prominent leaders and celebrities, the BJP is embarking on a high-energy tour across West Bengal, signaling a fiercely contested and intense electoral battle ahead.
