The BJP-led Mahayuti is ahead in most of Maharashtra’s 29 municipal corporations, with the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance surpassing the halfway mark in the BMC as per initial results. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, via video calls, praised state unit chief Ravindra Chavan and Mumbai unit chief Ameet Satam for the party’s outstanding performance. Fadnavis commended Chavan’s leadership, hailing the party’s significant victory across Maharashtra.
Fadnavis also extended congratulations to Satam, acknowledging his exceptional work and expressing optimism for the future. The Chief Minister’s positive and encouraging tone reflected the upbeat atmosphere within the party. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, BJP’s in-charge for the municipal corporation polls, lauded the Chief Minister for the party’s success and the Mahayuti’s performance.
Bawankule highlighted the development wave and trust in Devendra Fadnavis’s leadership across Maharashtra. He emphasized the people’s resounding support for progress, good governance, and a developed Maharashtra. In Mumbai, Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora commented on the failed alliance between Uddhav and Raj Thackeray in the BMC elections. Deora emphasized the city’s preference for progress and accountability over political drama.
In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, the BJP is leading, despite the NCP factions’ local alliance against them. Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction maintains a stronghold in Thane. The reunion of Uddhav and Raj Thackeray to consolidate the “Marathi Manoos” vote did not yield success in the BMC polls. The BJP outsmarted the alliance between the Pawar factions in PMC and PCMC.
