BJP MLA Maithili Thakur commended Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan’s recent address to the Bihar Assembly, stating that it effectively showcased the state’s progress over the years and provided a detailed overview of the current situation with supporting data.
Thakur highlighted the Governor’s focus on law and order, emphasizing its critical role in governance. She noted the Governor’s acknowledgment of Bihar’s strength in maintaining law and order, underscoring the government’s commitment to peace and security as a top priority.
Regarding the Union Budget 2026, Thakur described it as particularly noteworthy for its emphasis on inclusive development, targeting youth, women, the underprivileged, and farmers. She welcomed the budget’s provisions aimed at promoting high-value agricultural crops like coconut and cashews, foreseeing positive impacts on farmers’ livelihoods.
Thakur also praised initiatives in the budget aimed at empowering women, including plans to establish girls’ hostels in every district and the ‘SheMart’ platform supporting women entrepreneurs for enhanced market access and growth opportunities.
Expressing concern over the recent tragic incident involving a NEET aspirant in Patna, Thakur called for swift justice, emphasizing the need for prompt action to ensure safety and trust among students and their families. She reiterated her confidence in the system’s ability to deliver justice swiftly and firmly against those responsible, aiming to prevent similar incidents in the future.
